| Lijiang
old town |
|
The buildings,
the Naxi people and their Dongba religion all make it a fascinating
and exciting place. Explore the old town's back alleys, museums, artist
and textile workshops, and cafes, attending a performance of local hero
Xuan Ke's Naxi Orchestra, playing largely Tang Dynasty music. The late
evening hours are best spent drinking 'Puer Tea' or beer at the brook-side. |
|
| Lugu
Lake |
| "Where the world
meets the sky." The highest natural lake in China, Lugu is home
to the Mosuo - the last truly matriarchal minority in China and a refreshing
contrast to society at large. Local transport is largely by horse, foot
or canoe. And it is perfect for a day's relaxed exploration of the wooden
lakeside villages and its several islands and temples. |

| Yading |
|
|
In this trip, we will trekking
across Yading, to feel the beautiful remote wilderness and isolated
villages. And we can view 3 Sacred Peaks:
(1) Xiannairi (6032m) to the north,
(2) Yangmaiyong (5958) to the south,
(3) Xiaruoduoji (5958m) to the east.
The remoteness of this area
makes for an abundance of wildlife - reindeer, wolves and bears. |
